GUEST TOURS

Hoover Dam Top to Bottom Tour
Monday, October 9   9:15am – 2:30pm   (Ticketed)

While you are on their way to the Hoover Dam, you will hear a narrated story of this famous area’s history and urban legends from your tour guide.

You will spot important landmarks from your window. We will cruise by historic Boulder City, known for housing all the builders of the Hoover Dam, and enjoy the view of the clear waters of Lake Mead.

For the rarest of experiences on this Hoover Dam tour, we will be transported to the vibrant waters of the Colorado River by van on the Lower Portal Road. This preserved road still showcases the original gauging station used to measure water level and flow as well as the dynamite storage bunkers used during the dam’s construction. It’s like you are traveling back in time, seeing what the construction workers saw each day on their way to work building the Hoover Dam.  Now it’s time to climb aboard the raft and float along the Colorado River.

The Hoover Dam tour continues as we discover the history and engineering science behind the building of the Hoover Dam. We will have access to well-lit passageways overlooking the massive machines that keep the Hoover Dam running.

As the next phase of the Hoover Dam tour begins, our group will learn fun facts and legends about the details of building the Hoover Dam. Step out onto the Hoover Dam for astounding views of the turquoise waters of the Colorado River below. The views of towering mountains and iridescent water are perfect for picturesque panoramic shots and make a great backdrop for our group photo.

This is how mankind has tamed the rough waters of the Colorado River—and it is breathtaking!

The tour is easy walking with few stair steps. Wear comfortable outdoor walking shoes which could get wet when boarding the boat. The dam tour includes an elevator. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and camera.
