KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
While we hope you don’t need medical care while at NCBJ, here are a few tips for travelers to help you, just in case.
- For minor problems, ask the hotel for the nearest pharmacy, retail health clinic (i.e., drugstore clinic) or urgent-care clinic. A pharmacist may be able help you with over-the-counter recommendations. A clinic should accept major health plans or cash payment if you don’t have medical coverage.
- For medical illnesses check with the hotel front desk or concierge desk. Many hotels have in house doctors available. Some insurance policies may not cover this expense.
- An alternative to using your hotel’s in house doctor is to ask the front desk or concierge for a medical professional recommendation and go to their office.

Vacationing to Miami is a planned expense. Getting sick or injured while traveling, isn’t. There are many reasons why travel insurance might be worth having for you and your family members. Not only will you be protected if any unexpected medical issues arise, you will also have a helping hand to assist you with locating a provider. Another reason it could be a good idea is because many travel insurance policies will reimburse you for medical expenses no matter what hospital you end up at.
