San Diego… Sunshine on the bay, swaying palm trees, missions… and the Gaslamp Quarter! Once known as the Stingaree District, this historic area was known in the early 1900s for its saloons, gambling halls, and brothels. Since those days, the Gaslamp Quarter has evolved into an area dense with craft, artisan breweries, boutique restaurants, and specialty shops interspersed with fascinating glimpses of landmarks representing days of yore.
Our 2-hour walking tour will visit many of these famous locations. Along the way we will stop in several adult establishments, sampling flights of the unique brews for which they are famous. We expect to stroll 2-3 miles during this interesting and illuminating tour. Come prepared with comfortable walking shoes, hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. And don’t worry, if you find you are done walking, you can always call for an Uber or Lyft ride back to the hotel, if you bring your phone.
The tour will depart from the Marriott Pacific Ballroom Foyer (ground floor) on Thursday at 3:30 pm sharp.
