2020 NCBJ Conference - San Diego, CA

local airport
San Diego International Airport is located in downtown San Diego next to the harbor. You might hear it called Lindbergh Field, the former name.
Your Destination in downtown DC is the Marriott Marquis, located at 901 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington DC, between 9th and 10th St NW, The hotel is next door to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The closest Metro subway stop is called “Mt Vernon Square/7th St- Convention Center” on the Gold and Green lines at 700 M Street NW.
If you’ve not ever flown to San Diego, get a left side, window seat for your trip to NCBJ. The planes follow a typical descent, then get close and personal with the Presidio area hilltop homes and DT skyscrapers as you drop down to the sea level airfield.
San Diego International Airport (SAN) is on Harbor Drive 3 miles from the hotel. Coming out of the airport, turn left and follow Harbor Drive along the waterfront to the hotel on the right at 333 Harbor Drive. America’s shortest airport to NCBJ commute in America’s finest city!
Taxi fare is about $18 and Lyft and Uber are about the same.
Airport parking is a good overnight parking value for downtown. If you drive to San Diego and will be at NCBJ for several days and don’t plan to use your car, consider parking at the airport and taking an Uber to/from the hotel. Airport area various lots start at $8 a day compared to hotel’s $55 + tax overnight rate.

Local Knowledge Tip: Do Not fly to LAX, SNA, ONT, PSP, LGB or BUR in the LA area for a less expensive airfare, rent a car and drive the 100 - 150 miles to San Diego. The savings isn’t worth the hassle and the San Diego airport is a wonderful place. People who live in Orange County frequently fly out of San Diego instead of LAX, because it’s a much pleasanter experience.
