NCBJ invites you to be a part of the insolvency community gathering in Indianapolis, Indiana, from October 6 through 9, 2021, for the 95th Annual Conference of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges.
Yes, indeed, it has been so long since last we met in Washington, D.C. in 2019. Like so many other important events, 2020 was a year of cancellation and re-imagination. But, with vaccines on the horizon, we are confident that we will be together in Indy during October 2021. NCBJ also plans to offer some programming virtually because your health and safety and possible reluctance to travel are of paramount importance to us and our many affiliated organizations.
Whatever the format, the NCBJ Annual Conference will feature cutting-edge programming taught by industry leaders, and, as always, judges will offer judicial insights. NCBJ is committed to producing sessions that will enhance your practice and teach the skills needed to succeed in the “new normal” of 2021.
We know that everyone is ready for socially distanced, face-to-face networking. The past year has taught us new and innovative ways to gather and we intend to leverage that experience in person and virtually. You will have the opportunity to meet the people at the center of precedent-setting cases and circuit splits. CLE/CPE credit will be offered.
The host hotel, JW Marriott, is a world-class facility that is smack in the middle of all the Indy downtown action. The weather should be perfect in early October and the Marriott is adjacent to the NCAA Hall of Champions, Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, the Indiana State Museum, the White River State Park, including the Indianapolis Zoo and Gardens. Want to exercise outdoors? The White River Park offers bike trails, jogging and strolling while kayaking the downtown canals is an unexpected special treat.
All that activity will make you hungry! Remember dining out? Again, you are in luck in Indy. Sure, there are some well-known brands, but you have to try the steaks and jumbo shrimp cocktail at St. Elmo’s (think the best cocktail sauce in the world). The award-winning chefs and local, family-owned restaurants cater to every taste and thirst like Festiva for modern Mexican, Moontown Brewing and Memphis-style BBQ with amazing executions.
How do I get to Indy, you ask? It’s easy. 60% of America is within a four-hour drive to Indy. Flying to Indy’s highly-rated and newly-updated airport could not be easier, whether you start in New York, Washington, Miami or Los Angeles.
Please mark your calendar for the NCBJ official conference dates of October 6 through 9, 2021 or arrive a day earlier for the IWIRC and American College of Bankruptcy pre-conference events.
We look forward to seeing you Indy,
Hon. Frank J. Bailey
NCBJ President, 2020 – 2021
National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges
